Default Limits of Yellowfins on the Phideaux out of OI

Got the Call from Oftenn Ernie inviting us to go down to OI and try from some yellowfin. The bite has been scarce to non-existent so far this fall but its really just about spending time with friends right . So Mover II and I hopped in the truck and headed on down. Well the non-existent bite is over and let the blood bath begin. What a great trip on the Phideaux with Capt Jamie and Mate Jeff. Looks like they made the move south.

Here is Jamies contact information for anyone interested in getting in on this action. Super nice crew that knows how to have fun at work. I have no affiliation with this Charter business just passing on the name of another good NC charter operation.

Here are some shots from the days action.

The biggest one was 82lbs. I think this was the one. but not sure

    Mover II on the rod

Its gonna be a bloody kinda day!

Our long riggers were naked ballyhoo and they proved to be the ticket early in the morning.

I think this the bridge shot of the boscoe

I this one is gonna need glasses

The Rasta Bar on the right flat proved to be deadly all day. Yup even in NC folks!

I think we need a bigger box.

    another flatline bite

Ernie was on the gaff. This picture must have been in the AM because he need some help in the PM

    thanks again Capt Jamie

    Man I love this picture!!!!

This little red and white chain was on the short riggers and were probably the hottest bait of the day.

Is their such thing as a Red Yellowfin Tuna?

    Tough day on the digits

Just in case you forgot his number. Thanks again Ernie, Jamie and Jeff. Had a great time and good luck for the rest of the season.

Nikon D50 with a Nikkor AF-S 18-55mm lense. I usually use a larger lense for bilfish but since most tuna shots are close to the boat, I stick with the smaller lense

Awesome; we fished out of Hatteras last Wednesday and only had one Wahoo and King Mackerel for the effort. It’s the same old story; either a week too early or a week too late. Anyway we got in one good day out of the week as Hurricane Noel approached. Took boat to Pirate's Cove for about a month and hope to get some real fishing in not that the byte is on; thanks for the report...
