mixing 2 stroke oils

was wondering if its alright to change brands from pennsoil to xd-30 without removing oil tank and cleaning it out. 02 150 johnson vro system . ??????? thanks

Just run the tank down low and refill with the new oil . You should have any problems.

Do like seahunter says and run her down before adding new. I mix oils before, my buddy
picked up at yard sales and brought to me, so i just threw it in [good stuff too] and ran on.
It would give my plugs a hard time, i noticed fouling and low speed stalling when i was
ideling or trolling for long periods of time. I would have to pull in rods in and run mtr at
4000 rpm a few min to clear out cylinders, and start over. Once you get the new oil broke
in and the mtr likes it try not to add different oil unless it's an emegerency.
