There is a lot of structure along the cbbt for Tog. Close to the rocks and bridge itself. Be very careful at the end of the 3rd island as there is a famed rouge rock that will do you boat great harm. Scout the 3rd at low tide.

illegally tie a rope to piling or drift beside it at slack tide or drop anchor and drift back to piling, dont anchor near the tubes, you will loose anchor 70% of time

I've only once lost an anchor fishing the tubes, however a wreck anchor is needed.

For the beginner I would recommend fishing the tubes or one of the wrecks near the bridge. Pilings can be very productive but there are lots of pilings out there and all of them are not productive.

My favorite bait for togs is fiddlers but they are hard to come by this time of year. Crab, clam, oysters, and pretty much any other shellfish is good bait.

am i gunna lose alot of rigs drifting? i know there are a lot of rocks to get hung in. how much weight do you guys normally use to stay on bottom at cbbt? do you guys evr fish tog up in bay any? i used to catch them 15 years ago when i was a young teen in my little skiff with fiddlers off of mathews. 2 miles north of new piont, i tried york spit sunday no luck and back river reef too. only a hour at each and only one sea bass. maybe they arnt up that far yet. do frozen fiddlers work? or do you catch iyur own?

Keep an eye on your weather forecast. Your biggest problem on this Friday will now be WHERE you fish, but can you get there. Current forecast, if it holds is for 20-25 mph winds and 5 foot seas.

You will need a wreck anchor. Anchor in the rocks I hook up to the spine at the tubes in about 15' of water letting out rope to get you in 20 to 30' of water .use just enough weight to keep your bait tight to the bottom. If the weather gets to be too much you can try up the river bye one of the other tunnels you can usually catch a few keepers there

when i first started tog fishing at the tubes back in the 70's I used two cinder blocks tied together and they worked well. they get hung fairly easy and we would occasionally have to cut the line to get unhooked but beats the alternative.
