John - you need a trailer for that boat... perfect December CBBT vessel!
Today was the day I moved my boat from Edgewater to Deale for winter storage. The South River was pretty flat since the south shoreline blocked the wind. However, once I entered the bay and headed south, the waves picked up to about 2-footers. With the tabs fully deployed, I headed into the waves at a pretty good pace (28 mph). About halfway to Deale, the seas increased to 3-footers, and I needed to slow down to 20-23 mph. I also saw a few scattered crab pots so I needed to look out for other nearby ones -- this was a challenge with the rough sea conditions.
I had bundled up in a way similar to what I wore last weekend. That was definitely overkill, and I was too warm the whole way there.
I passed through the Deale harbor breakwater about 40 minutes after departing. Then after another 10 minutes of 6-mph cruising, I reached the Deale Marina behind J.J.'s Tackle Shop. That is where Tri-State picks up and drops off boats. I am glad that the boat is moved. I hope that my mooring job at the dock will keep the boat secure in the strong gusts until Fri when Tri-State can retrieve it.
Now I will transition to Severn pickerel fishing for the next few months.

My daughter is a high school senior and has lots of activities during Dec. I can't find time to get away then. After she is off to college next year, I may have more flexibility.
One other problem with your idea is that if I get a trailer, I also need a heavier tow vehicle. That is not in the cards now.

Let me know if you want to chase the Striped Pikeoff PLO.It's a long day but still only a day trip compared to CBBT. Skip
CBBT is a day trip, leave millersville 130am, fish until 4 pm, return home at 930 pm.
Drink 4 red bulls over the course of this time.
John,
I didn't necessarily mean that YOU'D be using it... just that you'd have a trailer so it would be available to the rest of us whose boats aren't big enough for the CBBT![]()
