    Default Store Bought Crab Report

Hey all. Its been less than a month since my last trip and I had to give in already .

Was passing through Gambrills and stopped at Shoreline and bought the 4doz for 45$ special. Males, mostly 5 1/2" - 6" and heavy.

I guess I'm spoiled from eating PAX crabs all yr, so they weren't even close as far as taste, but at least they were full of meat. So if you have a craving, not too bad a deal.

Never thought I would miss baiting the t-line, but I am already. Its going to be a long winter!

    Stingray,
    I feel your pain Brotherman.

I look at my c-tpx and just about cry. I look at the raw turkey giblets with longing. I caress the tender liver, give a gentle squeeze to the gizzard, fondle the heart and stroke the long beautiful meaty neck.

I look at the packs of chix gizzards in the store and another tear is shed.

I am going to Lexington Market and buy some fried chix nx to eat. Indeed I am.

Oh the inhumanity, the heavy pull of the trap, the slurping sucking sound of eating fresh caught crabs. I want to hold and bait nx into my tpx.

    I need help!

If you don't go, you won't know and you gotta have bait in the water!
I have terminal Crabiteis and there is no hope.

Herb, thanks for the "report"! That's not a bad deal at all for this time of the year, but i'm just gonna live off of oysters, rock fillets, shrimp and my stash of frozen crab meat until May! And maybe a beer or 2!! Hope all is well. And Burch- let me know how those chicken necks taste! You might grow a swimming fin by snoodfest.

Hummmm, I noticed "Fat Jimmy" made no mention of living off of Venison, what's up with that? Lot's of deer in my section of Fredneck this year. Course those South Mt. deer up in Jimmy's area ain't fit to eat anyway, taste like a fist full of raw acrorns. Son, you need some corn fed Monrovia, Venison? T.

Yep Croakers, i'm afraid you read that right, until I get me a place to hunt, my deer hunting is on temporary hiatus. In the meantime- I guess i'll have to settle for t-bones and cheeseburgers! I'm glad to hear you're finding some though- shoot those bastages up!

    Herb,
I drive by there quite often, they are strickly retail and there prices reflect it.
They do sell quality seafood (fish).
I must admit their SWAMP DOGS (Louisiana Jumbo Crabs) are good but $75 a Doz is
    difficult at best
I did quite well with Capt Bob Evans prices this year he sells to me at a discount.
I have had to make the adjustment of being spoiled myself knowing what I know and remembering all the Big crabs I use to catch.
Hope to see ya at OC this winter.

My total crab take out of the Pax. this year sure didn't hurt the crab population any. But the deer population however, the car/deer take is higher this year than I can ever remember. Damn near every day I see another one along the road, wasted. What we need here in Monrovia is more houses, with 3 cars per household. At 5PM on these back roads, one had better be watching the road edges close. And more free roaming dogs this year that I can ever remember, keeping the deer on the move. Take care Jimmy. T.
