They are hard to "go thru" with a rock point tip, they'll bite your finger off if they can, they can make perfect round holes in your new and expensive fish bag during the hunt, they love to eat human leg flesh and wetsuit material if you bring then up close (even when they're dead LOL) and they're even hard to clean at the end of the day but... they're also very gooood to eat.
You may want to try this simple recipe next time:
Salt fillets (three or four) to taste. Scramble one egg and dip fish filets in it so bouth sides are covered then place them on a diffrent plate and cover them again with House-Autry Seafood Breader (original recipe) works best.
Heat up some vegetable oil in frying pan (make sure oil is very hot before you put them in) and fry bouth sides till golden.

I cant say about triggers cause I never shot one, just hook and line to the box they go.....
You don't have to get in and "shot one" anymore. From now on they'll just jump in your new an improve rig as soon as you secure your anchor over the spot.
Talking about rigs...I got to change some seals in my lower unit soon, I found some funny color stuff in there when I was changing my oil, I thing water got in. There is always something!
I use a 50/50 mix of the chicken and seafood breader and a little old bay and lemon pepper.
When I was in the Azores we would tag team the triggers. We would tap our spear to make noise to attract them and after you had one you could get the whole school. Just like bailing dolphin. keep one on the spear while your buddy gets the next. The school would stick around waiting for a free meal(their buddy).
