Default Too, too many dogfish tonight.

Spent most of the evening on the Eastern shore side of the bay and ended up with Dogfish, dogfish, dogfish, etc.etc.. Atleast the weather was nice, although a little bumpy on the ride back acrossed the bay.

    Try again Monday and Tuesday.

Let me add, I stopped in to get some fly fishing gear and ended up with some nice eels (or shark bait tonight) from Crab Creek ( next door to Croakers). They were only $17 a dozen so I ended up with lunch money also.

Good luck if you happen to make it out this weekend in the wind !

Thanks for the tip on the eels.

I paid $37 for 1 1/2 dozen the other day.

Hope you have better luck next time you go.

    Wink lyle,

Good to hear from you. Are you sure that you haven't been reading a page from Capt. Croakerhead's book? Seems he had a good run on dogfish last year.

Maybe we could get the French to give up eels and switch to dogfish? The French like to "run" and so do the spineys.

At least you got some pullage. It's getting colder. Maybe skates? You weren't fishing for Cobia, were you?

The other night, I was catching dog after dog, until I took my STUPID-LOOKING toboggan off, and then I started catching Stripers...

And I thought a togoggan was a kind of sled, utilized in going down a snowy slope!

    I get your point !!

How many did you guys end up with without the trendy head gear ?????

Let's see, how to answer that particular question properly...

...we are averaging 8-10 fish a week over 40 lbs (without the beanie)

try bringing your eels up a bit more off the bottom. if i set my heavy lines all the way down, i get dogged up faily quickly, about 4-5 cranks off the bottom and im out of the dog zone.

Danny, they were so hungry they were taking all the baits even the ones free lined in a fast current. Must have been a doggie day!
