Default When is the best time for......

My father in law is taking his 3 son in laws out on a 2 day fishing trip out of oregon inlet or maybe Hatteras. I'm looking for some help as to when the best time to go out and catch yellowfin tuna? I have fished on the capt. BC and Osprey out of OI but it was years ago. I was also thinking of going on an inshore trip as well, maybe cobia or wreck fishing. I was thinking the Little Clam or Free Agent out of Hatteras.

I'm looking for suggestions, so please give me your thoughts.

    Thanks, Joey

    Joey,
I would recommend checking out Broad Creek Marina. There are a bunch of smaller boats in there that do an excellent job on the inshore fish. Also a couple of good offshore captains on the Doghouse and Phideaux over there. The marina is in Wanchese and they will run out of Oregon inlet. A great experience just to visit over there. Most of the big-name carolina boats are built in Wanchese.
    Tight Lines.

In terms of YFT fishing seasons, the best times would be Spring or Fall. The fishing is great, but the wx unpredictable. Best to give yourself a small window to fish during and be flexible. Summer fishing means pretty WX, but slow on the tunas.
