Planning on going out of Rudee on Sat.. What ramp would be the best choice (24 Albemarle) and what are some baits that I should be sure to have with me. Bringing my dad he has always wanted to catch some of these big stripers, we normally catch the small ones in the rivers.

Ocean Stripers
One of the ways to learn is sort the topics by topic. You should also look at the other reports lately and folks will tell you what they are using. Most of the charters seem to use white or chartruse umbrella rigs & parachute rigs. I like tomics, parachute rigs, daisy chains, Mann Imitators, buck tails & storms 6" & 9".
Might be out there Saturday, Sunday or Monday and glad to share how we are doing.

Welcome to the Board! Like Kevin said, white and chartreuse umbrellas along with parachute lures in the same colors, run in tandem off of a 3-way swivel are lures you shouldn't leave the dock without. That's all I run, as a matter of fact.
A good basic spread would be two parachute lures run as trailers behind heavy mojos right off the back of the boat, followed by two umbrellas run off the side and a tandem parachute in the shotgun position or two tandem parachutes run off the roof if you want a wider spread. You know your boat and crew best, so start basic and work from there.

My favorite is ocean trolling.Have done a lot of it and have taken lots of notes/ data. I have pics of my catches on my boat(when I had one).I also have two LARGE bait bags full of baits as well as plenty of rods/reels.I sold my boat and boat a new camper.I know I bumped my head and regret doing so. I dont know it all but feel I have the basics down pat. Call me and lets talk. The boat you have sounds nice. I do want you to know that I require a safe boat and a smart captain.I also know that boats dont run on 'thank yous'!!

Thanks to all. I have a boat full this weekend. I have one person aboard that has chartered many times out of Rudee so I m hoping he will be an asset. We are just gona go out and try it with the info I have gotten from this awesome forum and learn from there. The name of the boat is FIVEBUOYS so if anyone sees me give me a holar. BTW these parchute rigs and umberella rigs what size reel and line are most people using?
Welcome to the board :-)
As mentioned above, a plethora of knowledge resides on this board, as well as in the archives and some of the other boards too just for Stripers.
Tackle ~you can never have enough & a variety is recommended, not to mention a quick-chucking surface bait to your best spinning rod.
Lastly, be prepared to lose some tackle, even if out there by yourself, seldom happens here, but obstructions etc. on the bottom just happen to be there & temper that w/ close quarters sometimes, & the nets.
