Glow Sticks

Hey people, I was surfing the net, just snooping around and ran accross a site
that has, what seems to be a super deal on glow sticks and a very good selection
of colors. So the ones that are interested and use the Light Sticks for nite
fishing for Swords and other species here is the site:

I would wonder how they hold up at depths I would put them for swords. I hate it when one implodes and leaks that colored liquid all over my boat.

As the previous post mentioned, cheap glow sticks implode. Check the following site when their sticks have been tested below 150 fathoms. Price is excellent for a quality stick.

Watched a show sunday, a guy in FLA has figured out swordfishing in daytime.

Capt Skid, I went night fishing last weekend and stopped by the dollar store for chem lights to mark rod tips. They had a child's pack of 12 sticks intended for use as a necklace. (They come in a little plastic tub about half the size of a soda can, each of the six packets inside holds two individual stickes). Each stick is about an inch and half long and the thickness of a thin drinking straw. I tested one and it "glowed" for more than 13 hours. I used a small strip of electrical tape to attach to my rod tips. Worked perfectly. While probably not appropriate for extreme depth, it may be useful for some of our tidalfish.com readers....and cheap :)

I also go the cheap route at dollar tree (southpark mall, Colonial heights). A few different sizes and 1/2 dozen or more per pack of glow sticks for a buck. I use smaller ones to keep track of ballons at night while eeling.
