If it makes you feel any better, Critter and I had big plans of some ocean Tog fishing today, based on a great weather forecast from just last night. Instead, we opted for pooping on the front porch of an unmentioned local weatherman. It was actually more gratifying than a big fish...

I was surprised also. I plowed my way all the way from Hampton to the concrete ships to troll some eels. Marked a few fish but didn't catch anything there. I went to one of the islands between the bridges and got into them. I think it was blowing well over 15! I hope tomorrow's forecast is accurate.

    Good Fishin,

I hear ya. They got me too. And I hate it when the update their forecast for the worse WHILE I'm fishing. Winds were suppose to be 5-10 all night Thursday night AND into Friday. After midnight, winds started to kick up. Only good news for us is a east or NE wind is not bad around the high rise. But at daybreak we wanted some keepers and headed to 4a. We turned around and went home after greeted with huge easterly swells. One tip for NOAA....if your forecast calls for 5-10 and it's blowing 15, then you update your forecast after the fact, it's no longer called a forecast, it's called an observation or current reading.

Me too. I took vacation on Friday with plans of a little C&R at the CBBT with the wife. I looked at the weather just before leavingthe house and they were still saying winds 5-10 with waves 1-2'. We made it as far as the HRBT where the flag at Ft Wool was standing at attention and we were greeted by some healthy 3-4' footers. Tried casting to the pillons with no luck and then went cruising/sight-seeing up the Hampton River and finally back up towards Waterside. As a last resort we headed for the Jordan Bridge where we each caught one striper before heading in so mission accomplished.

Also figured out that Bonine works much better than Dramamine for the wife.
