    Default Strip Teasers (ie. Dredges)

Who uses them? Are they key for a sucessful trip? Just want to see before I throw down the cash to buy one..... I current;y have pin teasers (get reel lure company!!), and a squid spreader bar teaser....not sure I need another but man the strip teaser looks sweet in the water....

I believe in them for pointy nose fish. Especially whites and sails. Its offshore fishing, whats cash got to do with it.

Aboard the "Due Course" during the MA500 last year we used Offshore Innovation's CTI Dredge. We used "holografish" with manhadden and were very impressed with the performance. The CTI feature made it extremely easy to store and although they aren't cheap I would recommend picking up a couple.

A dredge will raise billfish in your spread. The stripteasers are an easy alternative to the mullet dredges.

I have used them alot bill fishing. The strips are nice but the heat is big rubber fish on the inside arms and hoo's or mullets on the out side arms. They will turn a bill fish on a dime when they see it.

We started pulling one last year at Hatteras. It made a difference for me. We got more bites on the short rigger bait near the dredge than the others esp. with Dolphin. I pull mine off a downrigger with 200# mono and a 48 oz in-line. Don't know if that is the best way or not but seemed to help. Good Luck!

Fished on a charter out of OI last year and we pulled 2 dredges, each a double dredge separated by about 12". What a load. Lead dredge was all 9" shads while second dredge had shads on inside and either swimming mullet or ballyhoo on outside of arms and a natural bait trailer. Also had squid daisy chain teasers in the traditional position. Went 7 for 7 on whites that day.
