    Default Flies for Yellow Perch

Cabin fever is setting in real bad, so I thought I would try to rush the season with trying yellow perch for the first time.
Anyone care to recommend their favorite pattern, and especially what size?
    Thanks in advance.

We've had some success catching yellow perch in the severn on #8 - #2 clouser minnows in white, chartreus & white & olive & white. We've usually been targeting pickerel & white perch, but end up catching a few yellow perch. I think any small clouser minnow fished close to the bottom will probably work.

I've caught them on brown woolly buggers, size 6 or even perhaps 8. Probably any smallish fishy or buggy fly near the bottom would work fine.

    Good luck.

Shad flies & simple feather streamers work also! I use them for Crappies (& Shad) and usually catch Yellow Perch too.

Go to Anglers, Tuckahoe Sportsman or Shore Tackle and Custom Rods and ask for "Joe's Grass Shrimp". Deadly.
