    Default Emerald Isle Fishing in August??

    My wife decided that I'm taking them down to Emerald Isle NC for a week this summer. Looks pretty laid back and beachy. Will drag the Grady along. Has anyone ever fished there in mid August and whats available for inshore or local coastal?

    I have taken my small aluminum boat to Oak Island twice. Great inshore fishing all the way up to the cape fear river. Flounder, spot, croaker. Fished with live shrimp for the first time- Nice area, friendly people.

    Default Emerald Isle

    I am there quite a bit in August. Ocean side beach is good for Pampano and Taylor Blues. The Kings are there in heavy numbers during August. There is a big King Tournament the last week in August.
