Default Best fishing in NY State?

A buddy & I are looking to take a road trip this summer and hopefully do a little fishin'.
Where in the state of NY can we find the best 2 fishing spots (both locations within 5 hours of each other)? Thanks!

Oswego COunty for salmon, steelhead and brown trout "meassured in pounds not inches". Plus you have the St. Lawrence further north which is excellend bass, pike and muskie fishing.

Best Steelhead fishing is probably in April and May with decent numbers around from September through May. Best Salmon is in September/October with good numbers of steelhead and browns around.

Best bass fishing is in the summer through early fall.

Best Muskie fishing is spring through late fall.

    Then there's the salt.

If you drive really fast you can make Montauk to 1000 Islands in less than 5 hours.

He's right, if you go another 30 miles past oswego off of highway 81 you'll run into pulaski, ny
Don't even go their until oct 1st and you'll have a blast with coho, chinnook, monster golden brown trout, and steelhead. On the way back you can hit turning stone casino and pick up some college chicks. You can travel west and go to niagara fals and the trout fishing is ok their but i think you'd catch alot more fish in oswego or pulaski than niagara falls

    I can't help you then.

    Saltwater is my specialty.

What Salmo said... just don't forget the Henderson Harbor walleye... there are some real pigs out there. Henderson is between Pulaski and the St. Lawrence and has a lot of bass as well.
