Thumbs up Maiden Voyage on Dor El (Striper Trip)

Heade out of LC at 0800 into some "Nice NE Seas", boat handled the water well. Owner wasn't so fortunate though! Got out to the 3 mile mark off the Ramada and didn't find anything. Good bait marks but no takers. Got a call from a friend (Thanks Jay) so we moved to about 2 miles off CH in 50ft water. Troll didn't take long and we hooked up on the days first. Second fish the owner brought in, followed by our third and final. All caught on white. All in all a good day, water a bit bumpy, but we were able to finish the day off with some fish. Boat ran and handled well in the bumpy water. Now shes ready for tuna to bloody her decks!!

Owner "taking a nap", we call something else!

First fish of the day for Weekend Warrior. Welcome back from the big sandbox Pat! Finally got the Stank off!

Owner with his first Striper onboard Dor El. Thought we were going to have to help you reel that one in Ralph..

Our triple header finished with Craig on clean up! Nice fish Buddy!!

Someone please throw me a pillow and blanket And a garbage bag..Please...

To funny Mike!!! Saw you out there Sat, but was on another boat and didn't get a chance to hail you. Hope you did well, we limited out Sat in short order.

Kevin, Pat was getting worried....His first fish he lost at about 20 ft from the boat. Gave him hell for that...He recovered quickly!!

To set the record straight........ This being the Dor El's maiden voyage into open water, I was merely checking the integrity of the hull by listening for any anomalies in the acoustics of the 4'-6' seas pounding the hull.

As it turned out, the hull checked out and all was in order to include the striper.

    Default Thanks again

Thanks for the invite - good times !! Ralph, was that why you kept asking for the boat to stop rocking, so you could listen ? Hey, I still have a picture of Daddy's Girl in his boxers with a striper (not stripper) - got to catch them on their schedule !!

Well by the pictures you posted those 4' to 6 foot sea's look more like 4 to 6 inch sea's.

    Wink

Did I say 4'-6'? Meant to say 6'-8'. Weekend Warrior's camera had a sticker on it that said "Seas appear smaller through lens"

    hogarth3,
I dream one day of owning a Edgewater. The boat you see is actually a Sea Hunt 260 with 2 x F150. Still breaking her in. Only have have about 9 hours on her so far. I'll have to let you know how she does on fuel. So far I think Ive burned about 30 gals all under 35k. So far I'm quite pleased with her. Will try to streach her out a little more this weekend.
