what do u want to spend, what do u want to fish for - this will help narrow it down. as a general rule furuno has best finders and garmin best plotters
Looks like I am going to bite the bullet and buy a new unit this season, but with so many new units out there and so many different options. I am coming to you guys for some advice. I am looking for one that has GPS and Sonar. Also I was wondering how many of you use Radar.
Thanks in advance
Bill

Yes, I use Radar! Wouldn't be without it
Look at the new Furuno Navnet digital stuff coming out soon - big bucks but real slick

I am very happy with my Garmin 3010c. i use it for plotter and sounder. Sounder is ok but the plotter is fantastic. I like it a lot better than my fathers Raymarine C80. If I dont buy a Judge 27, I will be adding radar this year. If I buy the Judge, i will have a complete Garmin 4210c system installed.
Furuno makes a great finder for about $750.00.
GPS has come down in price- buy the best you can afford.
Radar is great if you got the cash. The prices are coming down so it's no longer a rich guys toy anymore.I use mine alot- at night it's a must have.
Call the Boater's World in Severna Park-ask for Drew.He really knows electronics inside/out plus they have most hooked up so you can test them out. Skip
