OBX- WOODEN boat repair question

Finally got my pride and joy just about ready. I have a few problems with the hull and need some minor repair done. Does anyone have the name of a guy who can work on a wooden hull. This is a custom boat built by ben major with NO fiberglass on her at all. She is a beautiful hull and i really could use someone. Can't seem to find anyone in the phone book. I am in Kill Devil Hills by the way....Thanks to any help...

Ride down to Wanchese and talk to some of the builders down there they might be abl to head u in the right direction

Want them reds is right you should be able to find someone to fix a woodwn boat easily. You need to look a little harder. Most of the good craftsmen in the boat yards started out doing wood boats. Wanchese, Manteo or Manns Harbor should be as far as you need to look.

Look up Glen Bradley in Wanchese he knows his stuff. If you do swing by the boat shops in Wanchese go to Harbor, just behind the water tower is a Blackwell Boatworks shop. Ask for Bo Meekins he might be able to help you out. What kind of work do you need done.

Thanks for the replys. I figured i might have to poke around wachese, but i was hoping to get a name before i went over there. My problem is simple...along the keel a little chunk was taken out by the trailer. One of the bolts slipped on the pad and the pad dropped...loweing the boat at such an angle that when i put the boat back on the trailer it dug into the hull a little. It isn't bad and i can probably do it myself...but i want a more skilled hand to do it. It is about the length and width of a cell phone and barely deep enough to show bare wood, but it did splinter it and is maybe a 4cm deep gash. So nothing major...probably even still water tight in that area...but just want it properly addressed. Thanks for the responses and i am gonna head over that way next week with the boat or pictures

You could check with the folks at the NC Maritime Museum on Roanoke Island. They should be able to point you to several wooden boat builders.
