Just sold a skiff last year with a 100 HP Mariner on the back. Ipurchased it new in 97' and it never saw the inside of a marine mechanics garage! Best outboard I've ever owned.

Ive got a 2000 250 efi on my dusky. under 600 hrs and looks like new under the cowling, Ive had zero problems. My engine was built buy mercury and that 2000 was the last year the marketed that motor as a mariner, it became mercury efi in 2001.

the only complaint is that mine is thirsty, but I think any single o/b on a 8000lb boat would be.
