Any opinions, I have heard of some shops dumping them at a rediculious price, are they that bad or are they servicible just not like the penns or shimanos. thoughts please
I have a couple and they are really not bad reels. Not as good as tiagras no doubt. The main difference that I can tell is the drags are not as smooth and consistent. When I set my tiagra at 15 lbs, it stays on 15 lbs and seems to pull consistently at 15 lbs (at the top of the spool of course). On the okuma gold, as you are pulling off line, it jumps around a bit. But with a 5 year warranty and deals at 1/3 the price of a tiagra, it's not a reel for those fishing on budget.
