I have seen 3-4.5 oz needed, you may need to calibrate your balancer. How much did you pic it up for and where? I am thinking of getting one myself.
Any mechanics out there,
I bought a used snap-on balancer and trying to balance new tires on my truck
265-75-16 alloy wheels. The balancer is calling for 3-6 ounces on each side which seems excessive I don't remember using this much weight but it's been 15 years or so since I worked with tires.
is this normal?
could it be due to large tire with light rim?
Thanks,
Adrian

I recalibrated again and they came down most was 4.5 on one wheel the others were only 1 to 3 oz. I guess it was just way out to start with had been in storage for several years.
I drove the truck and no vibration
I got this one from a friend who had a car lot years ago and never used it anymore.
snap-on wb240 hand spin
They run on ebay for 300- 500 for older ones
motorized ones are a little more
If you buy one take in account how many weight it comes with I was shocked to pay 50 some bucks for 3 boxes of weights .
Thanks and good luck,
Adrian
