Default Marine Stereo / Chart Plotter

I need a new stereo. The last one I had was a Standard Horizon. It gave me several years use. I need a unit that can hold up to the humidity in my cabin. It tends to hold a little rain water in the bulge. Does anyone have any suggestions or recomendations.

I also need a reasonably priced chart plotter that is easy to use. Any recomendation?

I don't know about which stereo would be better than another, but I was gifted with a cheapie unit with with CD and lots of bells and whistles 4 years ago. It is mounted in the cabin and like your boat, the bilge is just below the planked deck so humidity and moisture are for real.
I installed the unit in one of the plastic houseings with a hinged face cover available from Bass Pro and other places. It seems to have provided enough protection to keep the unit from corrosion--I havent seen any at all so far. Perhaps you would consider one for your installation.

Thanks, I will consider that option. The last time I got the cheap unit it did not last a season. I think it was a Jensen? I could use the bracket and leave my old unit in the electronics box cut out.

Poly Planer MP3 kit! I love it. Simple design and works great. The kit comes with two speakers, amp, volume knob and mp3 jack. I installed the speakers and amp in the center console, the mp3 jack in the radio compartment and the volume knob under my tach on the dash. It's a sweet little system!!

I second Polyplaner, I had a couple on centerconsoles in the weather. They are awsome, I could scrub the console and stereo and hose off with no problems. And they have great power too.
