I have been fishing in the Urbanna to Waterview area. The croaker are in shallow, fairly plentiful, and with each warm day it should get better.

Hey guys, just wanted to add that the croakers are there but don't make the same mistake i made the last 2 trips. I used fish bites of all scents but they do not work in the cold water. Spend the extra couple bucks and get squid or bloodworms. I've heard that blood worms have been the bait of choice. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Good luck this weekend. Would be there too but heading to hatteras to surf fish instead. Good luck to all. Hope this helps.

The Waterview ramp is ideal for fishing in this area. Not many ramps in the area until you get to the lower end of Middlesex.

Squid is working pretty well, bloodworms are a little harder to find locally. Most people (I'm sure someone has them) aren't going to carry them til later. I've been adding some bait shrimp to the squid and doing pretty steady.

Big Johns gas station (at the turn to Waterview off of Rt. 17) has had them for the last 3 weekends running so I suspect they are good to go for the season now.

please o please do not pay these rediculous prices for bloodworms when squid works just as well.

I agree, but something about me has always liked to have a variety of baits on hand!
