Would like to take a trip to where the tarpon are prevalent, dont the think the Boca area is a good idea after the recent hype. Just wondered if anyone has ANY recommendations as to other areas and guides? Dont need a world record, just a good time.

If your looking for FL boca grande is decent but if you want to have a more room look into Tampa bay charters or the beach front around the Bradenton Sarasota area. I was born and raised in that area so if you want PM me and i'll tell you what i know
Capt. Donnie Braswell, Finest Kind, Marathon Fl. 305-481-1101. He is my cousin. I talked with him yesterday and tarpon are hot right now and will get better in May at Seven Mile Bridge. Check out his website finestkindfishingcharters.com
Was building a shore blind on Batten Bay, just west of Chuckatuck Creek, this winter and thought the shoreline looked awfully good for puppy drum. Sand, shell, spartina-muck bank. Does anybody know if such a fishery exists in that neighborhood? It looks a lot like the Lynnhaven except that deep water's a little further away and there's precious little current running past. At high tide the bank is covered so I've got to figure out how to get the canoe out there but where there's a will... Thanks for any insights. Oh, and NO ducks. What a complete bust.
If your talkin Boca Grande / Charlotte Harbor Fla. Capt Mark Bennet will put you on all the tarpon you want , good solid fish . You will catch tarpon with him!
Mullet are everywhere and the Tarpon are getting thicker and bigger by the day....need I say more...all the Bridges are holding good size fish in good numbers right now
