Should be some bass, rock, flounder, puppydrum. I have caught bass in Kitty Hawk bay, flounder farther north of Duck and rock around the bridge. Good luck and let us know how you did.

Man, I have to tell you that fishing the Sound in that area is one of the toughest fisheries I have ever fished. I know guys fish it and are successful catching flounder, specs and croaker but I haven't unlocked the secret yet. There is a good article floating around here somewhere about fishing the Pamlico and Albermarle. I think if you google it you can find it. Good luck!

Way to go! You had far better luck than I did. We always rent a house on the canal down in Avon. Last year I was catching shrimp off the dock and using them as bait at night. We used a big'ole cork bobber and fished the whole shrimp about 1.5' down. The bait fish would get wrangled into those canals and bigger fish were all over the place. We caught plenty of trout at night using that combination. My little boy had a blast catching them. Most of the fishing we did was off the beach. Tons of Pompano, Whtiting and blues with a few flounder.
