Unhappy The Most Important Fish In The Sea

To All TFer's That Care About Fishing The Chesapeake Bay This Is a Real Eye Opener!,

"Anglers who have spent time on the Chesapeake Bay will tell you that Menhaden stocks in the Bay appear to be at historic lows. A depleted population of these vital filter feeders impacts the entire marine ecosystem. Bruce Franklin's new book The Most Important Fish in the Seadetails the history of the menhaden reduction fishery, and its impact on this crucial marine resource. This is a "must read" for those who care about the fish that live in the Chesapeake Bay and the oceans beyond."

This book might start off a little slow, but read it all the way through and you will be very glad you did! If you want to better understand our Chesapeake Bay and the impact caused by Overfishing Menhaden and the lack of proper management, don't miss it!

It is so moving and informative the CCA of Virginia had a copy sent to every member of the Virginia Legislature & Tim Kaine. Let me know what you think after you read it!

    Good Fishing,

Two years ago a spokesman for Omega was quoted as saying: They were 'helping the bay by harvesting because the menhaden were depleting oxygen and helping to cause the dead zones.'
