    Default oi questions

    Is the small ( cut ) channel open now ? has the bar at the inlet opened a bit ( April ) it was very hard to cross had to time the swells . and one more BIG questions has the bite move north of the pint and the tuna hole ? will be going down for june 11-14 th ,any others think they will be down ?

    the cut is open, the bar is ok on good days, and will always be bad w/ east swell which is not the case now. Tuna have been scattered at best and the Tuna Hole is producing some bites..... the fleet is all up and down the line, nothing concentrated at the moment. If you want a Big Eye, the TH is the spot to be EARLY am. The Dolphin have been out on the stream's edge.

    Thanks for the info. I want a shot at a big eye ,I lost one last year due to lack of experance and I replay it every day .I want to settle the score .

    Fished Memorial day down there. Cut was open then and the charters were using it.

    Don't know how big your boat is, but be careful around channel marker 25...where the cut dumps back into the channel..less than 5' of water in the channel 15 to 20' off the bouy. There seem to be two bars right now, an inner just beyond the bridge 8' and an outer further out at about 8' depth as well.

    A good north or east swell is gonna make it rough.
