Late start due to crew sleeping, didn't make it out to the Cigar area until 9:ish. Maiden voyage of Guy's 36 ft. Contender CC offshore. 2-4 ft more like 4-6ft out rounding Cape Henry, two of five crew heading for the edge for some early chumming. Rode the temp break nearly all day, right around the 50 fathom mark, with 4 other boats, with little to no signs of life in near perfect water. Water temp around 70-72. Late in the afternoon, came across one of the largest schools of porpoise stretched as far as you could see, and were treated to a touchdown air show by the navy boys right over the boat. The decks did taste their first pelagic blood, after a double on two smll YFT, one in, one getting bigger due to the prop, about 35 lbs, and two gaffers did their part to make our day a little better. Other than 2 bite offs, REAL slow but beautiful day...

Smooth and fast ride home, until the fog setted in and could barely see the front of the boat...left Haymarket at 1:30 AM Friday, go back 2:AM Saturday, would leave now and do it all over again
