Fished the Cigar and east yesterday on Carolina Melody with Danny Kee. Left Rudee at 4AM. Lines in and shortly after right long pops, then short, then the green machine bar goes down, planer trips, and then the left short minibar goes down. After a scramble we get 4 of 5. 35#ers. Troll east and find some two tones in 71deg water and squid chain and purple/black witch go off. Two nice gaffers on. get one in and the other was foul hooked and got off at the boat. 1/2hr goes by with nothing then start back in and two more gaffers on. get both of them in the box. Back two 350ft of water and the minibar goes screaming. After a good battle a nice 45#er in the box.
we then decide to try some deep dropping, went to several locations and couldn't get any bites so we packed it in at 2:30 and headed in. At was a great day on the water with a great crew. Thanks Danny.

Good job Ken and Danny! Ken, are you bringing in blackend yft sandwiches to work this week to celebrate your new promotion in style?
Mike
I have a question. What kind of meat did you attach to your lures, if any? Did you add whole ballyhoo, strips, or just the lures.
We were 67 miles SE out of Rudee. All bites but one came on meat, hoo's. The hot bait of the day was a green mini/splasher bar with a pink skirted hoo trailing.
