RI Surf Fishing

We are going to spend a week in the Naragansette (sp?) area the end of july start of august. Is there some pretty good surf fishing to be had? Id love to bring my gear....

Yeah- great spots down there. I would highly recommend fishing at night that time of year- fish the beaches near PT Judith lighthouse- rocky area but big bass hand around there at night. eels are good bait.

I've caught some nice fish with eels and small blues from weakapog before at night. Went with my wife one time before a hurricaine and fought a fish for 2 hours before losing it in the surf. No idea what it was but it sure put up a nice fight

How about pier fishing in RI? I heard they were going to turn part of the old Jamestown Bridge into a public pier. Did that ever happen?

wow, i posted this last year.....we never did end up going for a variety of reasons, BUT,,,,we have a house booked this year, so no excuses..ive been reading about block island and some other places...so looking forward to it!!
