Default Thursday, Friday and Sat Bluefins

Fished thursday and Friday with Captain Al on the Hammertime. Thursday we did the Lumpy thing and got a few overs with the keeper being 55inches. Blue/white sailures on the long riggers were the ticket. I will try to upload the pics later

The fish seem to be all over the 20 line because we just started trolling home about mid day and caught them all the way up to a little north of the parking lot.

Friday went to Massey's and the bones and had 5 unders but could never get our over. Good news was only 2 bluefish bites. Again the ilanders and another special wayback head did the trick. Again since we were not in a hurry we just did the LTH and caught them all the way up to just inside the fingers.

Sat we tried the late afternoon thing on my boat but the reports from the guys coming in was not too promising. Ended up with a bluefish and came home.

Sounds good! I'm looking at Weds or Thurs this week. Trying to decide where to go...thinking 26 mile hill early then go out to the 20f line and troll south zig-zagging down the line to the Fingers.

Good deal Bill. Sounds like the Bluefins are giving you guys some pretty good pullage. What I wonder is with all the talk of how bad a shape the Bluefins are in (stock wise), how come they still seem to be fairly easy to locate. This winter they were so thick you could get them most every day & we have had them both inshore right now as well as a group of Giants that came through a couple weeks ago. Now you guys also have them in most of the usual 20 fathom spots. I'm not saying that the guys who make these assessments are wrong but rather, just wondering weather or not the Yellowfin have be overlooked. I hope I'm wrong but look how great the Billfish have comeback recently here on the east coast. Then again, the old timers will say that a great year for Billfish & Mahi replace a Cooler SST year when the tunas are thick.

    Thanks for the report Bill.
I just got back last night and I'm already planning the next adventure.

Only the truly ate up understand the maddness.

    Bill.

Que Pasa! - Not sure if I will be down much this week because we are swamped here at work. But I have stuff at both the Alltackles, Sunset Provisions and Gander Mountain in Salisbury. We just filled everybody up late last week so they should all be good to go.
