Fishing off of VB in end of August

I posted this on the Virginia forum but it was suggested that I post it here.

As long as gas is not $8.00 a gallon on the water we will be driving the boat down the bay from the Lower Potomac and staying in Lynnhaven.

We want to make a trip off shore one day during the week we are there,weather permitting but not sure about running out to the canyons. What type of fish could we expect if we went to the 24 mile tower, I think that is what it is called. Would be up for a trip out with a buddy boat of course.

We will be going out in a 29' Robalo W/A with a 300 gallon tank.
