    Default any help appreciated

    went out with the family today to HMI on the way back in an alarm went off on my boat. checked the oil and had plenty, checked the water flow and all seemed fine. alarm would not shut off. was almost at ramp so continued in. i have a 2005 mercury 125 OB. any ideas?

    Was it a continuous sound, [indicates overheating] or was it a intermitent sound [indicates low oil] If it low oil my merc;[it is older] has a seperate tank in the motor with the sensor in the cap, if the oil drops a small amount the horn sounds beep, beep, .. If your overheating
    take the cover off and carefully lay hands on the cylinder heads to see how hot it is. be careful of moving parts. If you can put your hand
    on the heads the mtr is not hot and probably have a bad sensor their too. Good luck with your test.
