Default ECO Rig, on the Rap.

Launched the ultra economical 14’ game fisher at Wake on the Rap. Ran out the east bound channel. (This is just east of the Rt 3 Bridge). Caught good size croaker till the fish bites ran out. The bite was on! Caught most drifting in the channel 8’ to 10’ of water. Also a few spot mixed in. didn’t try for founder.
Best Part was only burned about a half gallon of gas with the 9.9 merc. I highly recommend an eco rig like this. 14 foot V hull with a 9.9 Merc. I added a fish finder, trolling motor, and 2 seats. Looking for a cheap VHS and I’ll be all set. I can pull this boat with my little 4 cylinder GMC pick up (28MPG’s). I think next week I’ll try pulling some Clark spoon for Mack’s or dropping some fluke rig’s and squid.

Where are you guys putting in? I'm heading that way next week from the mountains and am looking for somewhere on the Rapp to launch.

    Thanks!

    Default Wake !

The Wake ramp is free and great for a small boat. the Channel runs out east and follows the south shore line on the Rap. so you can fish deep water ( 10') in the channel and still be close to shore. I'll be out there this Tuseday in my "tin can" I'll be the one with way to much stuff bolted to a 14' boat. Croaker bite is great now. I'm going to try some flounder and and maybe some clark spoons for Mack's

My daughter and I are going to the spike and try for some spots and croakers. If the water is flat I might give the spanish and blues a try a little further out around windmill point. I hope between the two she will stay busy and have fun. Thanks for the reply!
