Vacationing in Nags Head

I will be trailering my boat down to Nags head in the weeks to come. Looking for some information and procedures and where to for boat ramp, Lic fees and fishing hot spots (just kidding on the Hot spots unless you want to). I have Va fishing lic on the boat, what do I need fo NC? Thanks in Advance. Darryl

Everyone needs a fishing license. N.C. doesn't honor va. license.Most of the ramps will be down towards south Nags head, manteo, oregon inlet. Public ramps are across from pirates cove marina, Oregon Inlet Marina. Both put you in the sound. OI is closer to the inlet and the ocean. Try under the OI bridge with mullet for flounder or the far side of the bridge(soundside) for trout. Watch the depth it will jump up and bite ya quickly. I usually drive over the bridge and back without the boat to get an idea how the sand has shifted and where the holes are. Good overhead view to see whats going on becausse the inlet changes constantly. Good Luck, won't get down to the outer banks til Sept. work is killing me.
Oh, If you want ocean, check the weather AND the channel, it ususally needs dredging and get real hairy in a smaller boat
