Yep, that is cool. I see some replies by Wayne Fowlkes. Does anyone know if that is Wayne Fowlkes the rod-buider?

    Congrats on the Tarpon!

Ya know I PM'd him that same question on another forum - no reply. Wayne has my fly rod right now, I will ask him in person.

Why did they kill it? Should have let it go. Good job on the catch of a lifetime.

why would anybody want to kill a fish for the sake of killing? Same crowd who complains full time about fish regulations. Dam shame.

Why would anyone think for a second that you could revive a tarpon from the top of the pier ( I guess it's a very slim chance, like the lottery)...... what, lower it down with a net and watch it sink to the bottom for crab bait?....... don't you realize to release a tarpon to live again that you need to get water running through the gills, get it's strength back, like from a boat, not going to happen from a pier....... it's a long battle from a stationary object like a pier....... when i've seen tarpon hooked down near Morehead, it's a long battle that usually ends in the tarpon pulling off before reaching the deck....... most cobia and kings that I've caught over the years hit the deck already all but dead from the battle..... probably the same would happen with a Tarpon........ Seems the same tree huggers are always complaining . Damn Shame
