    Hmmmm.......

    I can't give an accurate count of how small a fraction of the tarpon population makes it into VA waters but I think it is pretty small..........hard to revive from a pier?.....yep.....!

    No wonder so many people come and go from this site.......give the man a break....

    Nice catch buddy!

    And the choir tunes up again...........

    I just wonder how many of the ones who say it couldn't live have ever caught a Tarpon...I've taken near a hundred from shore and all swm off very strongly...

    Does Sandbridge have a catwalk? We would walk our big sharks to the beach and then release them. I have netted a number of large drum and cobia and they swam away after being lowered back down. I thought I heard that a Tarpon can breath air when then oxygen level gets low in the shallows. Anyone else heard this?

    From what I've read, that much is true. They have an air bladder that allows them to live in oxygen delepleted enviroments. That's one of the reasons they roll--they're gulping air.

    One day I hope to get close enough to ask one.
