when you feel the bite, push your rod tip 5 to 8 inches at the fish and let him eat it. when the lines goes taught, its on ! If that dont work just quit for the next 10 days because flounder season is CLOSED.until July 30th - so even a 28 incher will not do you any good for supper......and at $7 a bag ( or $20 for the tub ) thats a waste of good bait - or use minnows, at least the fish get a nice snack !

Could have been little blues biting off all your tails too- happens everyday

    Default Gulp catches big fish

Chartruese 4 " fooled this big boy! Last 2 years wouldn't leave the dock without them. I like chart. in cloudy water or cloudy days, white on crystal water. Also had good luck on the white shrimp. BUT I ALWAYS ALWAYS add a minnow or shiner. Last trip boated 60- inlet fishing on chart and a minnow, when the minnows ran out the mouths closed. The one in pix could barely get it in it's mouth, most were 15 to 18 inch size, 4 over 19. Wish I invented them probably could have retired.

Pinfish are usually the ones that do this in my experience. They usually hit the gulp baits near the bottom. If you are fishing under a cork, shorten your depth and this sometimes slows the pinfish bite.

I'll bet $$$$$ it's Black Willies there's plenty of little ones where you're fishing, they love Gulps and those buck-tooth bass-turds can take a tail off in a heart beat !! If you want to try and see what it is just throw back the tail-less Gulp and let it hit, if you don't hook them just use a slow retrieve back to the boat, they will follow it.
