Default Old Road Bay - Patapsco - any good crabbing?

Have an opportunity to go this weekend with a friend who's got a small boat/skiff in Old Road Bay on the Patapsco. We've never crabbed there before, it's near the old Sparrows Point plant. Is there any good crabbing to be had up in there? I don't even know the depths in there honestly. I usually crab the severn, but the reports from there have been pretty dismal. Any help would be appreciated.

Way up the river from old road bay.
As you head into Old Road Bay from the river, you will see two creeks off the back of the bay. Jones Creek on the left and North Point Creek to the right. Head straight in to Jones Creek and watch your depth finder. You will come up on a sand bar that runs from the shore at the left, out to a green day marker. Either the north or south edge of this bar has been known to produce well. Also, as you enter from the river you will see a red day marker from this marker to the east torward fort howard is another bar, locally known as Sunken Island. Again, any edge of this bar can produce well. On the east side of Sunken Island, within 5 yds of fort howard is a channel. This channel can produce well also. If you opt to crab on the south side of sunken Island, be wary of ships traveling the channel. Their waves have been known to roll up on that bar pretty high.

    Nice flatty.

Or, if all else fails, as you leave old rd (heading toward the river), keep an eye out for the pt to the right side at the mouth. Round the point but stay tight to the shore and set up inside the edge along the slag shoreline. A hidden gem that some Beth steel guys showed me yrs ago when i crabbed the patapsco.

Thanks guys. We'll be leaving from a house at Old Rd, so I'll give one of these spots a try.

I used to crab the wall at Fort Howard when my brother in law had his boat at SPYC........we never did that well but it was right there!

You might want to think about hitting the popular spots near the Key bridge as i believe they are doing pretty good..................I used to take the bridge to work every day but now I opt for the tunnel...............so I dont have a morning report.
The bridge is seeing very little evening action.
