Smile Gunpowder river war zone !

Someone must of declared war on crabs in the gunpowder, because there were over a 100 boats there this morning, and I'm not kidding you I had to zig zag all over from the trap bouys.

It was pretty comical at the ramp also, I think everyone who owns a boat must take a course on how to launch and reload.

I'll be fishing a bass tourny tomorrow out of dundee, so I'll probally drive past a FEW of you fellows, good luck crabing tom.

Easily 100 boats and most were using traps out at the mouth and max pt. 500 plus floats out there, I never saw such a thing. Oh yeah most folks left with less then 1/2 bushel, it's slow out there. It's going to be nuts sat morning.

Wasn't any better this evening. Took the kids out of Dundee to catch a few perch and couldn't count the number of boats. It was the Jon Boat Armada.

I live on the street that takes you to Mariner Pt. Park and the crabbers were rolling down the street at 4:00am in the morning. I took a ride down to the park and the lot was full and boat trailers were parked on grass spots or the overflow was on Kearney Drive. The park was crazy this Saturday thats for sure.

Maybe I'll start a road side business for the crabbers rolling down my street, selling chicken necks, coffee and donuts. How about it???

Contribute yes, Hurt I do not think so. Commercial crabbers are out there from start of season till end of season. Unlimited bushels, 6 days a week. Average rec 1-2 times a month May to September. With line or trap limit, 2 bushel max. One commercial is taken more then 50 recs in a season.

I cant believe no new reports from today, I guess not many people went out, LOL. If there were 3 fters out there I hate to have seen how crowded those spots out of the wind were. The Gunpowder can be very miserable when the waves are up.

I am a rec crabber and rec crabbers have to remember one thing, Commercial crabbers most of the time depend on their harvest as part of their income! I thought the rec regulations were 1 Bushel this year? Am I mistaken? I have never had a commercial crabber in the area I am crabbing that has taken so many crabs that I couldn't get enough to take home and have a gathering! If I didn't get them, It was my fault! To all rec crabbers, how much do you pay for a license a year and do you abide by the law set for rec crabbing??? There is a limit of commercial licenses available, there is no limit that I know of for rec crabbers. Where is the real problem?
Just my opinion! Not worth much I know!
