thank goodnes your son was with you.man you are lucky buy some lotto tickets it your lucky week.
Put my 1000' line in on time at 5:30am. Started pulling crabs in good numbers on the first run. Caught a mixed bag but not as many females as a few weeks ago. I stoped at 13/4 bushels because I had an accident.
Just finished runin thru my line and I was starting to sort when I notices four small crabs at my feet(I had missed my sort tub). I was off balance and had my dip net and my hat in my hand and over I went in 10 feet of water. Kinda scarry because I was worried were the prop was while I was under the water. I lost my only dip net onboard so my day ended at 9:15.
I was actually starting to pull larger crabs in great numbers towards the end of the day. I would have had two bushles easy.
Kudos to my son who manuvered the boat to get me out quickly. I got to get him into that boaters safety course.
Good Crabbing All

It happens quick! I let my 8 year old run the boat as much as possible to gain experience. I was thinking the other day......What if I was thrown out of the boat at speed from a wave. Don't have a kill switch. They know as much as you teach themGlad you didn't get hurt. Gary
Glad the propmissed you
. You should have used your hat for a dip net
- make it more exciting

What could be more mundane than dying of old age or of natural causes when there is death by misadventure to be pursued ? Skip
I didnt think of my hat. I made my dip net out of a regular crabbing net with gal fencing wire. It worked great. I have anouther I can convert for a spare but I think I might invest on a dip net that floats.
It sure was a good day. It feels great when things are productive and you dont have to buy the crabs!
