Thanks for the report, Appears all the crabs are light junk, in the river now.![]()
Here are the stats:
20 topless traps with necks
Dropping traps at #9 marker a little after 5:30 - back at the launch at 1:30
35 total crab: 18 between 7' and 8 1/2", the rest in the 5 1/2" to 6 1/2" range.
Lots of pulling for a few crabs, but by far the best quality crabbing I have ever had. Stayed away from the crowds for the most part.

Those are some pretty pics!
Corona and steamed crabs!!!
very nice looking crabs I had roughly half bushel of them last week, they are huge
Why do some people not get it. If you would throw back them white bellies , there would be some nice crabs in the river come Sept. and Oct.

Thanks for the report. Some call em "easy picken" crabs. Either way, I'm sure they were great after a long day crabbing. Enjoy.
It's b/c they look pretty light in your pic. Hope they weren't and it was just an Illusion
With all due respect, lets face it, "every crab quite packed" would be an overstatement to say the least. Its an insult to those of us that crab that river. Especially since I and many others I know crabbed the same area in the same timeframe. Dude I could care less if you keep a crab that has rice paper for a shell, thats up to you and BTW to the rest -it is lawful. As a matter of fact, I keep white bellies on occasion because they are easy for my 6 yo to pick. Now having said that and having pulled thousands of crabs out of that river in my lifetime, those are light crabs in that pic. Unless of course you took some comet and a scrub brush to them before cooking AND you were the luckiest crabber in the river to get all fat heavy jumbos while the rest of us schmucks were pulling in junk that looked exactly like your picture. Anyway, thanks for the report and Best of luck to you in the crabbing future!![]()
