    Default Sunday Wye River

Decided Saturday night to head over to the Wye and try for some crabs trotlining. Had a few misteps along the way due to the complete lack of planning and prep for the trip, but managed to dip enough to feed 4 later that night.

These guys weren't spectacular, they came mostly between the hours of 10 AM and 1:00 PM, but they sure were tasty. Big thanks to Bob, Joe's former neighbor (if you're reading you'll know) for helping out and making the day a success.

    Default That's what everyone said...

but the ramp was still packed and everyone coming off the river had crabs. Maybe they're not those big monsters that everyone's used to, but they are out there.

We pretty much did everything wrong and still came back with 40 or so crabs. Steamed them up and ate as much as we could and still had four left.

I'm planning to head back soon, but this time I'll have everything ready and we'll get an early start.

I had the best trip on the Wye in the last 2 years on Sunday. We caught 2 lid buster bushels and threw back ove a bushel of small crabs. We left them biting. Started @ 5 : 30 and was back to the landing @ 11 AM.

No secret Just need to be up river a little farther then you think. The salintiy is high they are searching for brackish water

    Default Thanks Phil!

I know this is a little late but I took your advice the other day and we crushed them. Only one real monstor but most were in the 6' - 7' range and surprsingly heavy.
