Default RR: Skunky water but good bassin' from IRI

What's up with the nasty water??? We ran 34 miles out from IRI yesterday, and had the most horrible water I've ever seen that far out--chalky, pea green, with visibility of no more than 3 feet!!! Anyone know how far out/north/south it extends? Anyway, with awful water and no signs of tunas or mahi, we switched gears and dropped jigs onto a wreck in 120', to find these guys:

Here's Jack S. holding up one of the decent ones; we kept 15 between 3 and 6 pounds, and also caught a half-dozen or so sand perch. Good eating, but not what we expected to be going after out there!

    Default Nasty Water

I was out at the Tea Cup and beyond Sunday and that nasty water didn't end until we were 44 miles from IRI. The water at the Cup was real nice. Had one Wahoo and 2 small dolphin. From what I heard on the radio, we were part of the lucky few. I didn't really hear of anyone catching much of anything let alone tuna.

just curious, how heavy were your jigs to get down that deep effectively?

might try to head out of IR this week if this east wind lays out abit. maybe it will push some stuff closer in for me!
