Severn report - 8/21

Went handlining near the #2 marker in the Severn.Got 50 nice crabs - I cut my measuring stick at a 6'' notch.Most were 6-6 1/2" but a few were about 8 inch biggies .Anchored in 7-9 feet of water.Chicken and fresh cut White Perch for bait.Got about 40-50 small crabs and maybe 15 or so that were legal size.Four dozen is plenty for us.Only got about a dozen females.Water temp is 80* and the water is somewhat clear .

While handlining we also cast a rod out with a 1/2 weight and piece of chicken.This caught some of the bigger crabs - fun way to catch them.

51/4" is the legal size jut to remind you..........I personally keep 51/2 sometimes if im not doing well.
