I like to buy them from this old black man that catches them off William's Wharf on the East River, but fish with them? Heck no. I run them whole through a food mill and fry up Spot balls.
Way better than flounder.
Is there anywhere in the Northern Neck that sells live spot? I would like some small ones for floundering this weekend.

If I have extre left over, I use a melon baller and freeze them in ice cube trays and fry them later. Good winter eats--warm Spot balls.

The creeks are full of them. All you need is No 4 gold hooks and some bloodworms on a bottom rig. We caught all we needed in about 3-5 foot of water last weekend. You may also want to try J&W's Seafood in Deltaville.
I have seen them at the chum store at the end of Reedville.
