Very nice, congrats on the terrific outing.
The Amberjacks would hit ANYTHING!!!
We caught fish on every rod we had in the boat.
From 8lb up to 50lb test line. All fish were released.
I had some reels to test for Penn and Pflueger,,,,and man did we test them!

Very nice, congrats on the terrific outing.
Sweet report and pics.
Thanks guys!
Very impressive catch with that spinning reel, how did it hold up and what model is it? AJ are like having a VW hooked up!
Great fishing and the pics are sharp. Keep'm coming.
Chris,,The reel is the new Pflueger Supreme XT (Freshwater) reel.
I just got these and were using them for inshore saltwater trout and just wanted to see how tuff they were.......Ill tell ya what,,,,We caught three AJ's on the same reel and it didn't skip a beet! No problems what so ever!
The reel is awesome! Here is more info on the reel from the Pflueger site.
Pflueger Fishing Tackle
What model were you using? I'd be curious to see how the reel holds up to saltwater after awhile. Catching a AJ on it pretty much tells you it would definately be one nice freshwater reel.
Keep me updated on the wear and tear due to saltwater. A rinse after use always helps but I have some freshwater stuff that says DONT use in saltwater. Thanks for the info.
Its the 9035XT model.
The other freshwater Pflueger reels I have tested in the past held up for about a season (Thats around 200 trips) Its the bearings that you have to worry about.
They make a good product for the money!
Where do you fish out of Chris?
I will have to check one out. I love my stradic's so its hard to change up once you've had a god run. They are 3 years old and still handle 40# Rockfish smoothly.
I fish the Chesapeake Bay. From the Bay Bridge in Maryland to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnels in Virginia. Stripers are the main target, blues are heavy in the bay right now.
In the winter months we take the boat down to Virginia to fish the Bridge tunnels(the ocean stripers) Huge schools traveling along the coast, we troll and I love to jig em with light spinning tackle.
We go offshore from virginia also. Fish for anything out there from sea bass to marlin.
