fishing r1 r2 12/14

put in at gwynns at about 9:00 a.m. sunday morning headed out to r1 r2 area to have a look around.saw scattered bait and fish on the sonar but no real pods or large returns.listening to radio things sounded pretty slow,but i figured i"d keep looking. i concentrated on the drop off to the channel and found some decent looking marks i put out 2 strectch 25's one chartreuse one blue and chrome and trolled south zig zagging across the dropoff on the first pass when i got right next to r2 fish on at first i thought i was hung up but when i reeled down on it i knew i wasnt .39" in the boat put the chartruese stretch back out and caught three more in the mid twenty inch range .i should've put the big one back instead of the small ones but i was by myself and couldnt take a picture and i knew the wife wouldnt believe it without proof. got back to dock at about 3:00. great day!

Nice Fish. What was the depth where you were getting bit?

I'll be out there tomorrow if the forecast holds.

they were in 25 to 35' along the drop off
