Default Annual Duck and Goose Count

OK I had a slow year due to ice, babies, and a beautifully PG wife.

I shot 36 ducks, 12 geese, no snow geese. This is the first years in 10 where I did not accumulate over 100 kills.

The upside is I soon will my island house done. My wife and kids will then be able to come with me so I should be back into the zone next year.

I never count the totals, as it's just too depressing. Did get my Swan this year, on the 2nd to last day. If I had to guess....Maybe 50 ducks and a few Geese. Still going after the geese though.

Sounds like you have had a busy year. Where's the Island?

    Last weekend pics..

Eastduck I did not get out as much as I wanted to,had to have surgery and was laid up for a while but the farm me and the boy's hunt in Harford and Baltimore County we eneded up with a total of 185 geese and 12 duck's.We shot more in the Baltimore County this year then Harford for some reason this year, saw more bird's in Harford but alot of pressure there could have been the resaon. We are heading to Aruba in a few week's and when we get back will be getting ready for the fishing season,my wife gave me a trip to Hawaii in November and I think it's the first week of the 2009 goose season,go figure oh well once in a lifetime trip, have a great summer.

175 Dark geese. 123 puddlers.35 divers, 60 of the puddle ducks from ark. For the cold weather we had in va the last 2 weeks the puddle duck numbers should have been higher. We just dont have the ducks that we had in the late 90s. But the hunting on Tangier Island was great this year. Loads of sprig-tail. so maybe they are all over there. I think we hunted 39 days. And if I can just live long enough to load my boat with decoys again

Matt- How many kids? Trust me, if it's not too late, TWO is enough! Mostly due to work (lost major employee around Christmas) and losing my mornings to put my son on the bus every day (wife went back to work fulltime) and deer hunting (killed 7 whitetail and 3 sika), I had a fairly slim waterfowl season. Didn't fool with divers, killed less puddle ducks than deer this year. Probably killed 20 Canadas, which is frankly about all I wanted to shoot. I think my club numbers are a little more impressive: 60 or so sika off the Blackwater place, no idea how many ducks, 70 whitetail off the Easton place, probably 250 ducks and 400 geese?

Freezer is full, hooked up some friends with venison and a goose or two. Sorry we didn't catch up this year, I got your message about your friend- if we end up with any openings next year I'll let you know.
