Here is a couple pics from our little tuna adventure.....i think Pat has some more. This will go down as one of my most memorable fishing trips. Going out on a boat with a kid who has one bait and a broken rod (lost our only lure in about 5 mins).....good thing Patrick came prepared with our bait runners......getting another Rapala was the most interesting part of the fishing trip.......We take for granted how available tackle is to us. When we lost that kids Rapala, he was truly bummed, it was his only lure and replacing it wasn't as easy as going to BPS, Bishops, Walmart..................we ran the boat back to Limon, parked at a fish house and the only three whiteboys in Limon finally found a couple EXPENSIVE Rapals in a pawn shop. Then it was off to the hardware store to try and find some leaders, to guard our precious Rapalas......NOw that we had our baits we made the 5 mile ride back out to the bluest water I have ever seen, where we quickly began catching fish...........We were now trolling the biggest spread Walters's boat had ever seen, 2 baits....of course there were no rod holders on the boat so we got the full feel of the strikes......luckily i manage to get bit by the two biggest fish of the day. The first one truly kicked my butt, I was worried about our little plastic coated eagle claw leaders....But i got both fish to the boat and Patrick did a fine job of grabbing the fish by the tails and puttin the meat in the boat......we then continue to catch a bunch of minis......our whole spread was getting covered up (2 rapalas) with tunas skying everywhere. Finaly we had enough and our thirst for a cold Pilsen was greater then our desire to catch more tunas..........once we got back to the dock..Walter saw our catch and started rambling in Spanish to Gabriel.......I'm pretty sure he was saying these gringos crushed it!.....Then Gabriel cleaned the fish him and Patrick jumped in a little toyota and headed to the fish market to sell our two bigger fish........all in all this was one hell of a good time......it was defiantly not a Tropic Star, Los Suenos type of Costa Rican fishing trip, but it was awesome.......Eric
We also went fishing in Puerto Viejo, I'll let Pat tell you about that one.....
